The frame decides the size; the photos fit into it
On most pages here the pictures decide the size of the file. Here it is the other way round: a profile picture or a story has a fixed size, so the frame is set first and split into halves, and each photo is scaled to fill its half. Anything that overhangs is cropped — the half says how much — and you choose which part stays.
How to do it
- Add two photosThe first goes left (or top).
- Choose the frameSquare, portrait, story or wide; or type a size.
- Place each photoDrag inside a half to move what it keeps; Keep faces inside the crop where the browser can detect faces.
- ExportThe file is exactly the frame size.
Where it stops
Each photo stays a rectangle filling its half. Heart shapes, cut-outs and decorative frames are not part of this tool.
Questions people ask
Which frame size should I pick?
Square 1080 × 1080 for a profile picture or a feed post, 4:5 (1080 × 1350) for a portrait post, 9:16 (1080 × 1920) for a story or status. Type any size you need under Layout.
How do I move each photo inside its half?
Drag inside it, or select it and use the arrow keys. Each half shows how much of its photo is cropped away.
Can I add a line between the two photos?
Yes. Divider line under Background draws a line of any width and colour on the seam.
Can the photos go one above the other?
Yes. Split → One above the other. That suits a story frame better than side by side.
Is this for couple photos?
It works for any two photos — a couple, then and now, two products. It never changes the photos themselves; it places each one whole into its half and crops only what does not fit.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Both are combined in this browser tab.
